The 5-star superior Palais Hansen Kempinski in the Austrian capital Vienna was designed by the famous architect Theophil Edvard Hansen. It is located in a former palais at the world famous Ringstrasse.
My personal highlight of the building is the Lobby Lounge, which is arguably the most beautiful in Vienna. This is my favourite place for relaxed business meetings and even TV interviews. I usually enjoy a pot of white tea together with the hotel’s famous apple strudel.
The building itself is a historic landmark, originally built for the World Exhibition in 1873 and reopened in 2013 as part of Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group Kempinski. The hotel is close to shopping streets, museums and other historical monuments in Vienna’s amazing city center, which stuns tourists and business people alike.
The hotel has 152 elegant rooms & suites. The rooms are decorated with high-quality fabrics and carpets. They are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, in-room tablet, deep soaking bathtubs and other standard amenities include 24-hour room service, minibars and flat-screen TVs. The rooms offer views of the surrounding historic buildings in Vienna’s Inner District or the inner courtyard.
Palais Hansen Kempinski is home to some of the best restaurants in Vienna. Discerning guests can start their day with rich market breakfast at Die Küche Wien. With its laid-back atmosphere and classic Viennese dishes, it is the perfect place for lunch and dinner, too.
For fine dining in Vienna, Michelin Star restaurant Edvard is simply a must. Awarded with 16 Gault Millau points and a Michelin star, guests can enjoy outstanding five, seven, or nine course menus combining seasonal and international products in creations blending alpine and Mediterranean cuisine.
Events at Palais Hansen can be held with innovative concepts and individual service. There are ten spacious function rooms with natural daylight, including the ballroom with 277 m2 of floor space and the historic pillar foyer for your champagne reception in a luxurious ambience.
Palais Hansen is home to the 800 m2 Kempinski The Spa, where a gym with Technogym equipment, six treatment rooms, a hydro pool, steam bath, bio sauna, a mixed sauna area and a women’s only area await hotel guests and day spa visitors.
Other services and facilities available at the hotel are concierge service, business center, limousine service and a gift shop. The concierge can organize tickets to concerts or a ride with one of the typical Viennese horse carriages, the “fiaker”, to make the most of your trip to Vienna, which has been rated the world’s best city to live for many years.
